Forgotten Stories Armor

Forgotten Stories Armor has public Leather, Iron, and Vorant records with current costs, resistances, or requirements where the card provides them. The Forgotten Stories Armor page pairs those fields with the staff beginner route without turning it into a universal best-in-slot claim.

Armor choices: match the material cost to the protection you need

Compare the actual resistance lines, resource requirements and Speed penalties. These WIP cards do not support one universal best armor set or a final damage-reduction formula.

How much Iron Ore should I reserve for all three listed iron armor pieces?

WIP checked 2026-09-10T07:21:27.171760+00:00

Iron Helmet requires 6 Iron Ores, Iron Chestplate 15, and Iron Leggings 6: the three published recipes total 27. The Chestplate also lists the quest Justice In The Area as an alternative obtainment route. If you already receive that piece from the quest, the remaining Helmet and Leggings recipes total 12 Iron Ores. Chestplate lists Speed −0.15; Leggings lists Speed −0.10.

27 and 12 are recipe sums, not a promise that each recipe or quest is currently available. No quest walkthrough or combined armor-resistance formula is established here. Keep the two Speed penalties visible when planning a build; the removed positive weapon Speed bonuses do not remove armor penalties.

Check the quest alternative before spending 15 Iron Ores →
Can I craft Iron Chestplate instead of finding the quest?

Its card gives two obtainment routes: craft with 15 Iron Ores, or complete Justice In The Area. It lists Defense +2 and +10% Fire, Wind, Earth and Slash resistance, with Speed −0.15.

Water and Blunt resistance are not listed for this piece. The source does not provide the quest giver's coordinates or every quest objective; do not follow an invented route.

Inspect Iron Chestplate's two obtainment options →
Vorant Mask or Vorant Plate for a rune slot?

Both list Max Runes +1. The Mask requires 4 Living Bark and lists +5% Water, Wind and Earth resistance. The Plate requires 15 Living Bark plus 1 Emerald, and adds Max Mana +2, Defense +1 and +12% Water, Wind and Earth resistance.

Vorant Plate also lists Fire Resistance −20%. More Mana and rune capacity do not remove that drawback or automatically unlock spells.

Separate armor rune slots from spell learning →
What does the low-cost Leather Pads card actually cover?

It lists a cost of 3 silver and +7% each for Fire, Water, Wind, Earth, Slash and Blunt resistance. Those six entries describe this piece, not every damage type in the game.

No Order, Chaos or Void resistance is listed. Do not describe the piece as protection against all elements or assume all armor percentages simply add together.

Plan the listed silver cost alongside other supplies →
Did the weapon Speed update remove armor penalties too?

No armor-penalty removal was announced in the checked weapon note. Iron Chestplate still lists Speed −0.15. Check the character's displayed Speed after equipping it before relying on an extra-turn threshold.

The weapon announcement is about positive weapon Speed gains. It is not evidence that armor penalties disappeared, and listed equipment lines are not a complete stacking formula.

Test your displayed Speed against the next extra-turn threshold →

Practical route

Putting it into practice

  1. 01

    Start with the published route

Use Leather as the official early recommendation before comparing Iron and Vorant options.

  2. 02

    Read each source field

Compare current cost, resistance, requirements, and card state only when published.

  3. 03

    Match the encounter

Use boss, enemy, and status evidence instead of assuming one armor set solves every run.
