Forgotten Stories Healing

Find a healing option

Forgotten Stories Healing has passive and active routes: exploring map tiles, winning fights, using food or potions outside combat, and casting Mend or other healing spells. The official FAQ also separates ordinary health recovery from Deep Wounds treatment. This Forgotten Stories Healing guide compares the verified options without inventing cooldowns, inventory rules, or shop guarantees.

Venomed: the official FAQ also lists Cleansing Waters

Official FAQ clarification · 2026-08-21 UTC · edited 2026-09-02

The Game Mechanics FAQ explicitly lists Antidote or a mage's Cleansing Waters for Venomed. That supports the spell as a treatment route; it should not be described as wholly unverified. Antidote's current card also lists removal of Venomed, Dazed, Weakness and Blindness, plus 15 Health and 5 Stamina.

The FAQ does not specify normal versus Critical casting. The Trello Critical text names Venomed but links to Bleed. The healing tool therefore marks the spell's Venomed route as partial for a selected cast, rather than guaranteeing removal on either variant. Deepwound and Infection removal are explicitly Critical-only in the spell card.

Cleansing Waters: normal cast, Critical and a source mismatch

Restoring HP and removing an injury are different outcomes. The official FAQ supports Cleansing Waters for Venomed; the comparison tool keeps that general route separate from the unresolved cast variant.

Baseline public Trello WIP checked 2026-09-08T01:33:25.085Z; later checks are dated per answer. Relevant official clarifications appear above. First collected or corrected details are not necessarily a new live update.

Can Emerald Ring replace Sterilized Bandages?

WIP checked 2026-09-10T07:38:03.684207+00:00

Emerald Ring's prevention is specifically for receiving Deepwound when knocked down. It lists 48 Silver, Max Stamina +1, Incoming Healing +5% and Outgoing Healing +5%. Sterilized Bandage removes existing Deep Wounds and lists 1 Lility plus 3 Rags to craft, or 10 silver in town. These solve different problems: one named prevention trigger versus treating the condition after it exists.

The ring does not claim to cleanse an existing wound, prevent every source of Deepwound, restore a severed limb or revive a dead player. Keep a treatment plan if you can receive the condition through another move; buying the ring is not proof the whole party is protected.

Keep the actual wound-treatment recipe available →
Normal cast versus Critical

Normal: heals one party member, reduces most debuffs by three and adds Regeneration +3. Critical: reduces by five, adds another Regeneration stack, and names Infection and Deepwound removal.

The official FAQ confirms Cleansing Waters as a Venomed treatment route, but does not specify the cast variant. Its Trello Critical label links to Bleed, so the tool marks the selected cast as partial rather than promising removal.

Check the spell and unlock before relying on Critical →
Can Antidote replace all injury treatment?

No. Its current card names Venomed, Dazed, Weakness and Blindness. It restores 15 Health and 5 Stamina and lists a recipe with 'Makes 3'.

Infection still has Purging Vial and Deep Wounds has Sterilized Bandage as named item treatments. Do not confuse the item Healing Elixir with Mini Healing Elixir in the recipe.

Does Camping Guide improve every heal?

Its card specifically says Aftermath restores 30% more Stamina, Mana and Health to you. The faster map-travel condition is separate: everyone must own the Book for movement to take 10% less time.

This is not a blanket +30% to potions, food, Mend or every party member's healing. No base Aftermath recovery formula or tested stacking interaction is provided.

Check the one-run exploration requirement before planning around Aftermath →
Does Mend always restore exactly 15 HP?

WIP checked 2026-09-10T01:32:37.446Z

No. The updated public card caps healing at 15 HP on cast and explicitly says the target's incoming healing still affects it. Mend targets one party member and reduces Bleed by two. The old Order-affinity and extra-rune expression is no longer the card's current calculation text.

A cap is not a fixed heal or a guaranteed final ceiling after target modifiers. The comparison tool therefore retains an unknown final HP result. Reducing Bleed is not a published cure for Deep Wounds or Infection.

Practical route

Putting it into practice

  1. 01

    Use passive recovery between encounters

The official answer says moving across map tiles provides passive Forgotten Stories Healing. It does not publish a fixed amount per tile, so this page does not calculate one.

  2. 02

    Choose an outside-combat consumable

Food and potions are active recovery options outside battle. Dried Bread restores 6 health and adds Well Fed +3 on its public card; Mini Healing Elixir restores 15 health.

  3. 03

Use a spell for a targeted party member

Mend is a starter spell that heals one targeted party member. Cleansing Waters also heals a target, reduces most debuffs by three stacks, and applies Regeneration +3 on its current card.

  4. 04

Match special damage to its cure

Forgotten Stories Healing alone does not establish that every item removes every condition. Deep Wounds require Sterilized Bandage or a Critical Cast of Cleansing Waters. Infection requires Purging Vial or the same Critical Cast condition. Victory and map movement are listed for health recovery, not as substitutes for these cures.

Direct answers

Common questions

How do you rest and heal in Forgotten Stories?

The checked FAQ documents map traversal, food or potions outside combat, healing spells, and battle wins. It does not give a dedicated rest-key instruction or a fixed recovery amount per tile; use the documented recovery routes rather than assuming a rest button exists.

How do you cure Infection in Forgotten Stories?

Use Purging Vial, or a Critical Cast of Cleansing Waters according to its public card. Ordinary food and HP recovery are not documented Infection cures. Removing Infection is not evidence that a lost limb is restored.

How does Healing work between fights?

The official FAQ says exploring map tiles and winning fights can restore health. It does not publish a fixed amount for either route.

What is the cheapest published Healing food?

The official FAQ calls Bread the cheapest food and says buying its three Wheat costs 30 copper; the Trello card separately lists the finished item's Value as 40 copper.

Which spells provide Healing?

The official FAQ names Mend and other healing spells. Public cards show Mend healing one party member and Cleansing Waters combining healing with debuff reduction.

Does Healing remove Deep Wounds?

General health recovery is not published as a cure. Use Sterilized Bandage or a Critical Cast of Cleansing Waters; the public card does not say a normal cast removes Deep Wounds.
